Teresa Throckmorton

Master Teresa Throckmorton is the owner and Head Master Instructor of Central Park Taekwondo, located on Manhattan's upper west side in New York City and in Delray Beach, Florida. CPTKD opened its doors in NYC, August 2011 with now 400 active students starting at 3 years old. The Delray Beach Studio opens May 2019 and a 2nd NYC location is slated to open July,2019 on 77th and Broadway.
Master Teresa is certified at many levels through the Kukkiwon, the world headquarters for Taekwondo in Seoul Korea, including 6th degree Black Belt and International Master Instructor. She has been teaching for over 20 years and began her Taekwondo training in the early 1990's in New York City. She is also certified in Krav-Maga (fighting skills), as well as other self-defense disciplines. She provides training for necessary skills to master the art and discipline of Taekwondo and self-defense skills to protect lives.
The mission of Central Park Taekwondo is to provide a special community that focuses on empowering each individual who commits to training in martial arts and self-defense under the leadership of its instructors. We are devoted to inspiring and supporting our students in a lifetime journey of self-awareness, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.
Master Teresa has developed a team of talented instructors and staff members who are devoting their lives in helping others overcome obstacles and challenges faced throughout life while also teaching responsibility for oneself and leadership skills.
Another very important mission of CPTKD is to help local animal rescue organizations in NYC and Florida in their mission of saving lives of rescue dogs and other animals. We are dedicated in helping to raise funds that will support these rescues and help to give these animals loving homes.
Master Teresa resides in New York City and Delray Beach, Florida with her husband, three children, 5 rescue dogs and cat.

Master An

Born and raised in Korea, Master An currently holds a 6th degree black belt. Master An is certified by the WTF and the Kukkiwon. He has been training and teaching Taekwondo for over 40 years. Prior to coming to the Untied States in 2012, Master An was a Taekwondo champion in Sparring and Forms. Master An has dedicated his life to the study of Taekwondo.

Grandmaster Park

Grandmaster Park, 9th Degree Black Belt, has over 60 years teaching Taekwondo. He was the Head coach for the Olympic Team in Barcelona, Spain in 1992, the U.S. World Championship Team in 1993, Head Coach for the U.S. World Championship Team in 1993 and Head Coach for the Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1994. Grandmaster Park retired into the Korean Amateur Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1966 as the only undefeated Taekwondo champion with over 6 1/2 years of international competition. In 1966 on the personal request from the King of Thailand, he taught Taekwondo to the Royal Family and U.S. Military and became the Father of Taekwondo In Thailand. He now owns and operates D.K. Park Taekwondo in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Vincent Della-Rocca

Taekwondo

A professional musician, as well as a 3rd Dan Taekwondo instructor, Mr. Della-Rocca performs in recording studios, live concerts and Broadway theaters throughout New York City. He began his martial-arts training studying Judo as a child until discovering Taekwondo in 2006. Mr. Della-Rocca enjoys the correlation between martial-arts and music in terms of personal development and satisfaction.

Martin Krasnoff

Taekwondo

Mr. Krasnoff is a native New Yorker and 3rd Dan black belt instructor. His experience in the martial-arts includes studies in both Shodokan Aikido and Goju ryu, a traditional style of karate. Discovering Taekwondo four years ago, Mr. Krasnoff discovered his passion and is now eager to share his experiences with both children and adults. Mr. Krasnoff is the founder and co-owner of Rand Realty NY, a boutique real estate firm specializing in apartments and townhouses in Manhattan.

Richard Ruprecht

Taekwondo

Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, Richard started training Taekwondo at the age of 12 and has been hooked ever since! He competed on the nationally ranked Texas A&M Taekwondo Sparring Team, as well as, trained with the Mixed Martial Arts Team and competed in several Jujitsu tournaments. Richard recently received his 4th Degree Black Belt at CPTKD and the rank of Master. Master Richard is now our General Manager and one of our top instructors.

Master Rommel

Also known as, "Master Oatmeal", Master Rommel is a 5th degree black belt from the Philippines. He has been training for over 25 years and has competed locally, in the states and nationally. He trains our children and adults and is lead on our summer camps. The kids love him!

Kareem Freckleton

Taekwondo

Mr. Kareem is a 1st degree black belt certified by the World Taekwondo Federation and the Kukkiwon, the international home of Taekwondo in Korea. He lives and works in New York City and has studied Taekwondo for over 10 years. Kareem recognizes the importance of good fundamentals and enjoys sharing his passion and knowledge to help students build their Taekwondo foundation through dedication, self-empowerment and indomitable spirit.

Valerie Vann-Oettl

TKD Fitness

native Floridian, Ms. Vann-Oettl has lived and worked in New York City for over 20 years. She has danced professionally in numerous modern dance companies, most notably Zvi Dance and Jeanette Stoner and Dancers, touring extensively in the U.S., Europe and South America. In order to support physical and emotional well-being and balance her rigorous dance and performance life, Ms. Vann-Oettl trained in the Pilates technique throughout her career and received her certification from Susan Moran, cofounder of Power Pilates. Ms. Vann-Oettl is also certified in Thai Massage and is a Polarity Therapy Practitioner, A.P.P.

Sean Bennett

Sean Bennett has been in the fitness industry for 30 years. Mr. Bennett brings his talents to NYC from his hometown of Seattle, Washington where he managed and taught group fitness at multiple health clubs. After working for some of the top NYC fitness clubs and maintaining a career as an international fitness model, Mr. Bennett joins us an enthused group fitness instructor.
